Stress Therapy (NSRT)

Q: What is NSRT an acronym for?
A: NSRT is the acronym for Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy.

Q: What is Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NSRT)
A: Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy is a revolutionary holistic practice that allows your physician to determine which environmental substances cause stress on your body and then condition your body to react neutrally to those substances during real world exposure. The four key principles of NSRT are:

  1. Stress causes or exacerbates 80-85% of all human illness according to the AMA
  2. A reduction in physiological stress caused by environmental substances can alleviate many of the symptomatic expressions you may experience in your daily life.
  3. The brain creates associations between environmental substances we ingest, breath and touch. Some of these associations are inappropriate and trigger the symptoms you may be experiencing.
  4. If these associations can be broken, by introducing a positive stimulus in conjunction with the specific stress inducing substance, your symptoms may be reduced or eliminated.

Q: What is the basis or foundation for NSRT?
A: NSRT combines (3) core components of holistic medicine and modern computerized technology to create a novel and unique therapeutic modality.

Acupuncture is a form of 5000 year old Chinese medicine that is based on the flow of energy along meridians in the body or what we refer to today as the body’s energetic system. The meridian energy flow or chi carries information about the body’s internal organs that can be utilized in assessment of organ function, system function, metabolism, general stasis and even the reactive nature of the body to specific environmental substances.

  • Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a 300 year old medical discipline developed in Germany. Homeopathic medicine is based on the theory that “like cures like”. Homeopathic medicine suggests that a dilution of the substance can allow the body to build up a tolerance or resistance and allow the body to heal itself.

  • Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a form of complimentary alternative medicine that utilizes muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. Applied Kinesiology is a form of neurological evaluation that uses muscle tests to monitor a physiological response to physical, chemical or a mental stimulus. The belief is that when a person experiences poor health, it is due to imbalance in the body’s physical, chemical or mental state. AK is a practice that has been in existence for nearly 50 years and is practiced by many chiropractors in the US, Canada and Europe. AK is limited because it is considered to be highly subjective in nature, extremely time consuming and dependent upon the training and acumen of the physician.

Examples of AK or Applied Kinesiology include:
• Brimhall Technique
• NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique)

Q: How does NSRT utilize the principles of acupuncture?
A: NSRT utilizes a biofeedback based methodology to measure the body’s energetic system much the same way an EKG would measure heart rate. Sensors are placed on several of the body’s key meridians including the allergy meridian allowing our devices such as the BAX 3000 to detect increases in neurological stress as a result of environmental substance exposure. The assessment process used in NSRT is a fully automated, computerized and objective method of measuring the same types of organ and system function performed by acupuncturists for 5000 years. What makes this revolutionary is, the NSRT assessment process takes less than 10 minutes, requires no needles, is safe for all ages and is completely non-invasive.

Q: How does NSRT incorporate homeopathy into the therapeutic procedure?
A: NSRT presents homeopathic digital signals during both assessment and therapy that the brain can interpret in the same manner it would interpret the physical substance itself. During assessment, NSRT introduces a homeopathic digital frequency for thousands of substances using radio waves, measures and then records the neurological response to each. During therapy, the same digital homeopathic frequencies determined to cause a stress spike are converted to light and introduced to the body via laser.

Q: How does NSRT incorporate Applied Kinesiology into the assessment procedure?
A: Applied Kinesiology and NSRT have a bit more of an indirect relationship. AK is often used for “Nutrient Testing” to examine the patients muscle response to specific chemicals and substances. NSRT offers the same type of assessment by measuring a neurological response. NSRT however, does this without the subjectivity, time or muscle manipulation required with AK. NSRT is a fully automated, computerized and highly accurate format for measuring the neurological stress response to substances presented through more traditional and clinically accepted biofeedback.

Q: Is NSRT a form of EDS or Electrodermal Screening?
A: Yes. The NSRT assessment process uses a modern form of EDS or Electrodermal screening.

Q: What is EDS or Electrodermal Screening?
A: EDS is an assessment technique that measures electrical resistance and polarization at the acupuncture points and meridians. Through safe, skin-level measurements, it is possible to analyze the bio-energy and bio-information produced by all of the body’s internal organs and systems. EDS is an acceptable form of biofeedback. The DCM (Digital Conductance Meter) used to make and record these measurements is FDA cleared.

Q: What makes NSRT novel and unique from standard EDS tests?
A: The therapeutic aspect of the technology is brand new. EDS has existed for nearly 40 years however the concept of conditioning the patient using light therapy emitting homeopathic digital frequencies is proprietary to BioVeda Technologies and BioVeda Health and Wellness Centers.

Q: Can these substance frequencies cause any type of physical reaction?
A: No. NSRT uses a proprietary LASER (Light and Sound Energy Relaxation) technique. This methodology is completely safe and uses nothing more than sound and light as part of the therapeutic process.

Q: Does the assessment or therapy hurt?
A: No. The vast majority of patients report no sensation or feeling whatsoever during the assessment or therapy process. A very small number of patients that tend to be highly sensitive have reported a mild tingling sensation or a general calming of the body.

Q: What is the assessment process?
A: After an initial consultation, your holistic physician will place you in seat directly in front of the DCM or FDA cleared Digital Conductance Meter. The DCM has two clips that allow the device to create a closed circuit from the computer to the body and back to the computer allowing your physician to get a stress assessment.

To measure the bodies stress level, you must be properly hydrated. The BAX 3000 DCM is first used to get a hydration level reading to determine if assessment can be accurately performed. If you are not properly hydrated, you will need to postpone the assessment. The assessment cannot harm you; proper hydration simply ensures accuracy of the assessment.

  • Step 2: Base Line Impedance Measurement

After determining if you are properly hydrated, the BAX 3000 DCM will take a base line reading of your body’s electrical impedance or skin resistance. This is really nothing more than measuring the ability of your cells to communicate and pass information through the body. We test the speed at which your body transmits information to the brain without presenting any stimuli to get a baseline measurement for comparison since every individual is unique.

  • Step 3: Assessment

Using clips placed on the allergy meridian on the middle fingers, the DCM is turned on emitting homeopathic frequencies via a radio wave to the body, the DCM measures the correlating stress spike with each substance and records the data to the computer. Any substance that shows a statistically significant stress response above the initial baseline measurement is recorded to the database and presented during therapy.

Q: How long does the assessment take?
A: The assessment can take about 8-12 minutes depending on how many substances the individual responds to.

Q: How many substances does the BAX 3000 assess?
A: The BAX 3000 contains the homeopathic frequencies for over 65,000 individual substances. The library includes the molecular components of foods such as PHENOLICS which give food the color, taste, texture and aroma. The BAX 3000 can assess not only which substances cause physiological stress but the molecular component of the substance that causes the stress response. This can be invaluable due to the continual genetic engineering of foods and vast amounts of processed foods. No other device on the planet has a library comparable to the BAX 3000 from BioVeda Technologies.

Q: Does the BAX 3000 assess all of the frequencies at once?
A: No. The BAX 3000 has a series of patient protocols that start by assessing substances that more commonly cause stress on the nervous system such as eggs, dairy, nuts, fats and acids. Following the assessment and therapy for the substances in procedure one, additional substance groups are assessed for environmentals and foods based on patient history and remaining symptomatic expression.

Q: How many patient visits are required?
A: Each patient varies. In most cases, we can only treat for one substance per day. Depending on the number of substances you are sensitive to, you can expect anywhere from 4 to 10 visits for mild cases, and up to 25 for severe cases. For this reason we have created two pricing tiers. One price for mild cases which included 10 visits and another price for severe cases which includes up to 25 visits.

Q: How long does the therapy last?
A: The therapeutic results are indefinite. The BAX 3000 has been used in practice since 2007 and both doctors and patients report no symptomatic recurrence for patients at both 1 year and 2 year checkups.

Q: How long does each doctor’s appointment take?
A: The first appointment including consultation, assessment (if necessary) and therapy takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Subsequent appointments only take about 5 minutes.

Q: Does NSRT have any side effects that I should be aware of?
A: No. NSRT does not have any side effects. During therapy however, the body is going through a process of conditioning which can cause some mild expressions of detoxification. Patients report following therapy that they have draining of the sinuses, mild sinus congestion, mild headaches and/or itchy skin. These symptoms typically last only a few hours. Patient’s further report increased energy and longer periods of uninterrupted sleep immediately following therapy.

Q: Can the substance frequency cause any type of allergic reaction?
A: No. Exposure to the homeopathic frequency cannot trigger any type of allergic reaction via either light or sound. This methodology does not come with any of the traditional side effects associated with scratch and RAST testing.

Q: Does this biofeedback based assessment test for allergies?
A: No. While many of the frequencies in the stored in the computer library used in assessment and therapy are known allergens, most of the 65,000 substances cannot cause an allergic reaction. The NSRT assessment is looking for a stress response to a specific substance and is not an allergy test.

Q: Which conditions is NSRT able to diagnose or treat?
A: None. NSRT does not diagnose or treat any specific conditions. NSRT is not concerned with specific conditions or labels and focuses on providing holistic and complimentary alternative therapy. Homeopathy, however does have proven benefits for allergies, asthma, skin conditions, migraine pain, digestive discomfort and arthritis and is one of the cornerstones for our technology.

Q: Is this similar to NAET (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique)?
A: Yes. NSRT in many ways is the evolution of NAET providing an exponentially faster, objective, more effective and automated advancement to the NAET process.

Q: Is NSRT safe for children?
A: Yes, the BAX 3000 and NSRT are safe for all ages. NSRT is non-invasive, does not use any chemicals, pills, shots or needles. NSRT utilizes only sound and light via our proprietary LASER technique.

Q: Does insurance cover assessment and therapy?
A: No. NSRT is not covered by traditional insurance but that should not be a deterrent to get the care you need and deserve.

  1. First, The cost of the therapy is typically only nominally more than a standard co-pay when divided with the number of visits.
  2. Second, most patients have a deductible so you’re not getting any benefit in using your insurance until you meet the deductible which most people don’t meet. You might as well spend the same money to get the care you want when the only sacrifice you’re making is contributing toward a benefit you hope to get.
  3. Third, you may be able to use your HSA (Health Savings Account) to cover our care, please ask your provider as this varies from plan to plan and state to state.
